Chapter 3 – Part 2 is mostly about our flooring, denailed, planed & sanded. We hope to have some pictures of flooring sections put together in the next chapter. We spent today discuss some details such as hardware, stains, & fixtures with Bruce, one of the show promoters for the Philadelphia show. Stay tuned!

 

GRAND OPENING.
February 2, 20119:30 am. @ 66 Industrial Park Road West, Unit 2 – Tolland, CT. We will be open through the entire weekend (thru Sunday the 6th) as the local Historical Society has their annual show on Sunday and we hope to capture some of the customers that travel far and wide. Come see one of Tolland’s newest businesses.

Soapstone Sink saved from the going down the drain in MA.  Found on Craigslist bought  from a schoool teacher who has taught himself the trade or refurbishing soapstone sinks. A grand focal piece for the kitchen.  Coming Soon is Chapter 4 of SteamPunk Kitchen it’s a mystery…

 

We found a pile of 19th century attic flooring, which we plan to use in our SteamPunk Kitchen. Filled up the truck to bring to the shop, time to strip and clean that load. We have a lot of work ahead of us. This project is shaping up nice.

Finding raw materials is the second most exciting part of creating something new out of something old. Piecing together these wood gems into a new treasure. Stay tuned for Chapter 2 it is coming soon. As the Chronicles of SteamPunk Kitchen sends the raw materials to the wood shop next.
